How We Measure

Everything at Regis is defined - from Choosing the Fabrics to Taking the Measurements. We believe that first impression is the last impression. Our relation with our clients starts with this very first step of getting themselves measured for the bespoke clothing, so we have the best of industry in our team to provide our clients the duende of Regis Royal clothing.

  • Body

    The accurate measurement of shirt’s length comes from the back. For this, you need to put the measuringtape on the seam where collar joins the shoulder and run down to the desired point of length.

  • Sleeve

    Keep your body straight while measuring the sleeves, just like we do in “attention” pose with arms placed down besides the thighs in the accurate position. Make sure you are standing in front of mirror with someone helping you around for holding the tape accurately. Hold the tape in the centre of the shoulder (about half an inch below where your shirt collar ends) and run down to the point of your wrist bone. Move half inch more and you are done with the measurement of sleeve.

    You can also try out your old shirt as an alternative to measure your sleeves. Lay it flat and measure from the center of the shoulder to the bottom of the cuff. Measure half inch extra to allow shrinkage and that’s all!

  • Hip

    Consider the widest part of your hips, place the measuring tape around it and you are done with hip measurement for your Regis shirt. The measurement of the hip also depends on the length of your shirt. So, make sure that you pick the point where your shirt’s length ends. Read the body part to know how to measure your shirt length accurately.

  • Waist

    The correct measurement of waist is taken when you put the tape at the fullest area of waist which stands just above your hips. We need accurate measurement for your waist as it defines the shirt – whether you choose slim fit or regular.

  • Chest

    Measuring chest is easy. Just put the tape around the fullest part of your chest and note the measurement. Keep the tape horizontal and allow full expansion of your chest while measuring it. This will help you get the right breathing space for your body.

  • Collar

    Put the measuring tape around the base of your neck where collar of the shirt normally sits. Some like the collar tight and some prefer it a little loose, so a space of one inch or more is allowed while measuring the collar to provide enough breathing space depending upon the choice of the wearer.

    There’s an alternate option as well! Select any of your worn shirts whose collar size you are comfortable with and measure the distance between the middle of the button hole and the button to the point where it has been attached. You need to put the collar flat for accurate measurement.
